Drew Pattison is a leading bassoon pedagogue of the next generation. His research into practice techniques allows his teaching to scale as each student develops their own voice. He is proud to combine the best lessons from his teachers including George Sakakeeny at Oberlin, Bill Buchman at DePaul, Richard Beene at Colburn, and Ben Kamins. He has been the head coach and athletic director of the Oberlin bassoon department since 2017. In his next chapter, Drew founded the Oberlin Soundpainting Ensemble and began studying privately with Walter Thompson in 2021. An avid disc golfer, Drew has been hailed as one of the top players in Oberlin, OH. Come chat with me about health, web3, and entrepreneurship.
In the past Drew taught at DePaul University and played with many orchestras including the Chicago Symphony, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Milwaukee Symphony, Grant Park Orchestra, New Orleans Philharmonic, Houston Grand Opera, and Chicago Civic Orchestra.
